Had the pleasure of working a summer wedding from ceremony through to evening reception. Amazing location for outdoor ceremonies by the water and drinks reception on the lawn before the evening reception inside. Friendly staff and stunning location!

The whole place is absolutely stunning and set in such a beautiful area, surprisingly close to the river too! We had both dinner and breakfast there and it was a real proper dining experience. The dinner wasn't cheap but the quality was up there with michelin star. I think it was supposed to be a 4 course meal but they gave us 2 surprise courses in the middle. Absolutely top class! Our breakfast was run by a wonderful lady from South Africa who was very attentive and lovely to chat to. An excellent representative of the quality staff at this establishment. The lounge areas were exactly what we were hoping for. Similar to the National Trust estates that we often visit. They had the fires going and we relaxed in the drawing rooms while having a few drinks. This is essentially what we came here for and it was an unforgettable experience. All the furniture has an authentic old feeling too. Exactly what we wanted. Thanks! Side note, there is no at hotel ev charging.

Just back after spending 3nights in Roman Camp Hotel with my 2 daughters. Staff were friendly, and very helpful, food was fantastic. We had a lovely stay, would recommend.

A beautiful setting for afternoon tea with the family! Having a room to ourselves definitely helped with entertaining the 3 year old. No shortage of food and the tea flowed freely.

Outstanding luxury hotel. Excellent service by the staff. Our room was small by American luxury standards but that was more than made up for by the wonderful public spaces in the hotel. We spent several hours each day reading and enjoying tea in the library and the drawing room while it rained outside. The breakfast and bistro restaurant are equally outstanding.

Great location and beautiful grounds. Unfortunate that there was terrible service from the beginning to the end of our stay. After booking our stay, we arrived to a tiny attic room where our group members could not even stand up straight in the room. No air conditioning working, blazing hot, no curtains on the windows. Our rooms were split apart on opposite ends of the hotel even though they were booked together. Did not have a good experience at breakfast with waiters being rude. Would loved to have enjoyed our stay as this was such a beautiful town and we enjoyed walking around the garden, but the service was so bad, it really messed up the stay.

My best friend from college and I celebrated turning 60 at Roman Camp after 8 days in the Outer Hebrides. Roman Camp is down a very narrow road from the town--and you pass from village to beautiful gardens and even peacocks. The buildings date back hundreds of years but have been lovingly maintained including a library, sun room, chapel and bar area. The food was superb (the chef has been at the hotel for decades--and is still creative and uses wonderful ingredients) and the service from staff impeccable. Chris was terrific getting us settled and providing direction as well as dinner in the library with excellent drinks. We also received excellent bar service from Barnaby--including ideas for pub music at night. I would recommend Roman Camp highly and look forward to returning some day soon.
